Welcome to Løvøya Camping and Boat Harbor in Horten
We offer modern overnight lodging and camping conditions in beautiful surroundings and exciting environment.
Løvøya is a peninsula, situated in the Oslofjord just north of Horten in Vestfold county, in beautiful and spacious surroundings, about an hour’s drive south of Oslo.
Løvøya lies in a sheltered, lush part of the Oslofjord coast line. It is renowned for its unique geology and deciduous forests with a great variety in flora and fauna.
Centrally located in the camping area is the historical Løvøy Chapel with Holy Olav Spring which is part of the Pilgrim Path. The place has a special atmosphere and bears witness to a place of pilgrimage from ancient times. At the same time the distance is short to Borre Golf Course, the Borre Park (Borreparken) with its Viking graves and historical center, as well as the town of Horten and all its facilities.
Løvøya Camping & Boat Harbor is, together with a few summer cabins and residents, the natural center of the peninsula. Choose between swimming, angling, boating, walks/hikes, bicycling and other activities, or simply enjoy the calm and quiet in a fantastic scenery.

Running water, hot and cold. Showers and toilet in adjacent new buildings. Sheltered outdoor area with excellent view to beach and boat harbor. Kiosk, restaurant and beach near-by.
High standard Camping Cabins
“The Leaf Cabins of Løvøya” are 3 high standard cabins, each containing two bedrooms and a spacious, comfortable attic, offering a total sleeping capacity of 4-5 persons. The cabins are named “Birch”, “Black Alder” and “Ash”, after deciduous tree species found on Løvøya.
The cabins are neatly situated in beautiful surroundings, sunny and yet sheltered, with excellent bathing (swimming) and angling opportunities, and with Løvøya small boat harbour near-by.
The “Leaf Cabins“ are rather exquisite inside. The light wood used in the interiors such as floor, walls and roof as well as in the furniture, is mostly originated from the near-by deciduous forest. Most of the wood is worked by local craftsmen associated in a forum called VestfoldLauv.
The cabins are fully insulated, have a base of 28 sq. meters, and in addition a small porch. Private bathroom with shower and toilet inside the cabin. The kitchen contains refrigerator/freezer, stove with a small baking oven, microwave oven and a dishwasher, and the cupboards are fully equipped. The cabins have a flatscreen TV and internet connection.
